photo-1415871989540-61fe9268d3c8I have been very much enjoying a weekday email from The Contemplative Companion.   It includes a daily scripture reading followed by a brief meditation which helps me to experience the reading in ways that I never have before.  I was especially touched by the reading below which invites me into silence and deep contemplation between the darkness of Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday.  May your weekend be deeply blessed with awareness, presence and resurrection.

The Contemplative Companion for Good Friday, April 3, 2015

“So they took Jesus, and, carrying the cross himself, he went out to what is called the Place of the Skull, in Hebrew, Golgotha. There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, with Jesus in the middle.”  John 19.16-18

It is finished.

The journey ends with forgiveness and a final surrender of Spirit to God.

What began with Spirit in Mary, ends with Spirit on the Cross.

There will be more of the Spirit to come, for now though, only silence.

Silence…. So needed for me … So needed by the world.

How hard surrender is. The journey ends with forgiveness and a final surrender of Spirit to God. Amen!
