Here is an excerpt from a poem by Raymond Carver entitled “Where Water Comes Together with Water”.
“I’ll take all the time I please this afternoon
before leaving my place alongside this river.
It pleases me, loving rivers.
Loving them all the way back to their source.
Loving everything that increases me. “
That last line always seems to hang in the air and in my heart like a single pure note….everything that increases me. Each time I hear that line, I feel a shift, an opening of my heart as though all that increases me is present to me in that moment. I feel blessed. I feel abundant.
